International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) is the official worldwide international federation promoting Nordic Walking and was founded in Finland in 2000.
INWA is the only international organisation authorized by the creators of Nordic Walking to promote, develop and safeguard the principles and characteristics of Nordic Walking worldwide. In co-operation with professionals in sports, health and fitness, INWA develops innovative teaching methods and educational programs in Nordic Walking. INWA also collaborates with the scientific and medical communities offering research guidelines. INWA has over 20 official member organisations. INWA Nordic Walking Instructors have been certified in over 40 countries around the world.

INWA works internationally with her partners, providing professional services to member associations in the fields of education, research, technoology and good practice.
The INWA International Education Committee
The International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) has established an education committee which is responsible for the total development and guarantee of quality of the international and national-level education programs for International Coaches, Coaches, Master Instructors, Instructors and Activity Leaders. This International Education Committee is composed of International and National Coaches from different countries. These International Coaches all have a wealth of experience as a Coach, and have backgrounds in education, sports, sports medicine and health related fitness.
